Dr. Jinglan Zhang is a Qiushi Distinguished Professor at the Institute of Medical Genetics and Development, Zhejiang University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) and an ABMGG-certified clinical molecular and biochemical geneticist. He previously served as Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and Director at the Baylor Genetics Laboratory.
Dr. Zhang has led the development of innovative genetic testing platforms for population-scale screening, including carrier screening, newborn metabolic screening, and chronic kidney disease precision diagnostics. Internationally recognized for pioneering non-invasive prenatal screening (NIPS) for single-gene disorders, his work has significantly advanced the understanding of human genetic conditions and their prenatal diagnosis. His research has been published in leading journals such as Nature Medicine, Genetics in Medicine, Molecular Cell, and Cell Discovery.
